Ashley Ortlieb

Intern Architect, AAA
Ashley was born and raised in Surrey, BC. She holds a diploma in architectural technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from Griffith University, and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Calgary. Ashley’s education has enabled her to travel extensively throughout the Asia Pacific region, including a study abroad term in Tokyo with the University of Calgary.
Prior to joining MBAC in 2019, Ashely worked at the Vancouver-based firm James K.M. Cheng Architects.
In addition to her work with the office, Ashley is a sessional instructor with the University of Calgary’s School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape where she has taught several studio courses. She has also facilitated multiple Work Integrated Learning studios with MBAC.
Ashley is interested in architecture’s capacity to cultivate equity across multiple scales of practice, as well as the translation of concepts into constructed tectonic expressions.
